Independence Day 2024 is celebrated on 15th August every year in India. India gained independence from the British on 15 August 1947. With the end of almost 200 years of British rule, India began to breathe the air of freedom. Independence Day is celebrated to commemorate the sacrifice of lakhs of our freedom fighters who laid down their lives in the freedom struggle and ended the British Empire with their bravery and patriotism.
